MERCER ROOTS; Grandfather built the original log
cabin on Lake of the Falls in 1940. I have spent time in Mercer every
year since 1947, except for the year I was deployed to Iraq with the Army
National Guard. The original cabin survived until 1999 when it was torn
down in favor of a modern, 4-season home, which was built on the same footprint
as the original log cabin.
Family
began paying taxes in Mercer in 1940. Personally, I have paid taxes in Mercer since
1970.
